Traineeships are a combination of on-the-job training and paper-based learning, resulting in an accreditation issued by the Queensland Government.
Trainees in the program undertake study and work placement at the Certificate III level, with a nominal duration of 12 months full-time. During this time, trainees will attend training to complete a series of modules that will go toward the completion of their certificate. They will also be required to fulfil a range of duties that are aligned with this, in the workplace.
As the Group Training Organisation (GTO), ATW will be the legal employer of trainees while the Department of Communities, Housing and Digital Economy will provide work placement and supervision as the host employer. The Department has many different areas for trainees to gain valuable experience and a unique understanding of working within the public service.
